• Operating system Windows 10 or 11 64 bit

• 50 MB of free disk space required

• 16 GB RAM or more

• i3 does not require admin rights to install

• i3 will be installed by default on your computer in: ..\USERS\YOURNAME\HEIN-I3\I3\ANALYST or REPORT

• In the installation directory READ and WRITE permissions are required

• Do not install on a server directory: i3 files are not designed for a multi-user access

• ALL files will be installed into the target directory, no DLLs, no entries in Windows Registry

• IT departments may have installed security rules, which do not allow the download of (zipped) EXE files or to start setup files. Please contact your local IT officer.

We are happy to listen to your requests to improve i3 to finally improve your work.

Please (!)  describe the issue you want to solve in the context of patent or literature analytics as precise as possible. The developer will get in contact with you to discuss your request until we have a common understanding.

The implementation of a request as a new feature will be subject to the number of similar requests and the blueprint of the developer.

Import filters are continuously updated and improved according to your feedback and the plans of the developer. Especially during the initial 1.0 release phase of the software, this is a top priority, and we greatly appreciate your feedback. Your input helps us make the import of search results more robust, reliable, and comprehensive.

Please send an email to heini@hein-i3.com describing any issues with an import filter or requests for a new filter as precisely as possible. To support the development or adaptation of a filter, it is extremely helpful if you can provide:

• an example download from the database

• a link to a list of field codes provided by the database producer

• any additional information about database formats or other details you believe may be helpful

As known from every software bugs may appear and need to be resolved - especially in version 1.0 of a software.

MANUAL

• The manual for i3 is part of the download of the Analyst version. Use i3 | Info | Manual to open.

• For the Report version a PDF file with examples how to use i3 can be downloaded.

ANALYST VERSION

• How-to questions, description of bugs and proposals, ...:  Email to Dr. Heinz-Gerd Kneip. 

• We may schedule an online meeting to clarify your requests.

• Installation issues in relation to IT security measures of your organization are not supported.
  Please contact your local IT officer.

REPORT VERSION

• No support is provided to the users of this version. The main contact for the Report Version is a user of the Analyst Version in your organization. This user delivers analysis results for your Report Version and is your first contact person for your questions.

TRAININGS

• Online or on-site trainings session are are rather the exception - please send your inquiry to Dr. Heinz-Gerd Kneip.
  This limitation is simply due to very limited personal resources of a new provider.

Having worked for decades in a large information department, the developer fully understands the importance of maintaining strict confidentiality when handling potentially sensitive or critical information. We assure you that any such shared information will be kept strictly confidential between you and the provider of the i3 software, as set forth in the Software License Agreement. 

During the process of optimizing i3 according to your requests (such as bug fixes, feature requirements, or import filters), it may be necessary to exchange information including, for example, downloads of search results, lists of field or display codes, descriptions of your processes for analysis purposes, or other related information. All exchanged information will be treated as strictly confidential unless otherwise agreed in writing on a case-by-case basis. 

Ordering or downloading software or documents from www.hein-i3.com requires certain personal information, such as your email address, full name, and country of residence. This information will be used solely for the purpose of delivering the requested software or documents and for providing updates related to the i3 software or associated documentation.
